Stop the Marriage Ban

Why VOTE NO on PROP 8? Prop 8 would re-write California's Constitution defining marriage between a man and a woman only. This would deny gays and lesbians their right to be legally married.

Personally, it isn't about a piece of paper. It is about having the option to pronounce my love for my partner in a life long commitment. It is about being equally respected and taking on equal responsibility of my commitment.

Prop 8 would also not allow gays and lesbians the right to make emergency medical decisions for their partner. Legally, if your partner was in the hospital in critical condition only "immediate family" would be able to be by their loved one's bedside. The partner would not be able to make medical decisions for their loved one because they are not legally married.

If you live in California and believe in equality, Vote NO on 8. Spread the word!

I just saw this bumper sticker this AM, and was wondering what it was about.
It saddens me that in 2008 we still are not accepting marriage as a commitment bond between 2 people, without restrictions or prejudices.
I will help spread the word.

Here's my take on prop 8. I think it is a scheme to ensure that a large number of liberal voters make a point to vote in this election. because otherwise, it's ridiculous.
